 nita Tolani is a partner in the firm of Weinberg, Jacobs & Tolani, LLP. Her legal practice has focused on business law, licensing and regulatory compliance matters, and estate planning. She is a participant in the Members' Attorney Program of the ACA International, a current MAP Committee Member and certified by MAP as a Collection Notice Review attorney and HIPAA attorney.
During her years representing the collection industry, Ms. Tolani has served as counsel for numerous consumer and commercial agencies, obtaining licenses in every state and territory where licensing is required, negotiating settlements with state regulators and Attorneys General offices, representing and managing agencies litigation brought by debtors, and drafting and reviewing collection contracts, vendor agreements and collection notices. Ms. Tolani has advised numerous clients with respect to licensing and regulatory compliance in connection with the purchase and sale of collection agencies.
Ms. Tolani holds a B.A. degree from the University of California at Berkeley and a J.D. from Washington College of Law at American University. Ms. Tolani is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
