Mark B. Weinberg
Mark B. Weinberg founded and manages the Tax Exempt Organizations Practice Grou p, and co-manages the Estate Planning and Administration Practice Group within the firm. He graduated from the University of Chicago Law School in 1970, then served for over six years with the Chief Counsel's Office of the Internal Revenue Service. There he was responsible for matters concerning nonprofit organizations, charitable giving and estate and gift tax issues. He left government service in 1977 to enter private practice with one of Washington's largest firms, and in 1985 set out to create the firm that became Weinberg, Jacobs & Tolani, LLPMr. Weinberg represents a wide variety of clients including public charities, private foundations, advocacy groups, national trade and professional associations, and social clubs. He speaks and writes frequently on issues relating to nonprofits and estate planning for professional and general public audiences and is also a visiting lecturer at Washington, D.C. area universities
Mr. Weinberg is admitted to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Pennsylvania. He was elected a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel in 2002, and he is an active member of long standing in the Probate and Trust Law Division, the Tax Section and Exempt Organizations Committee of the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the D.C. Estate Planning Council.
